Welcome to the launch of Naperville Bake Swap! A place for us in the Naperville area to meet up to share and swap recipes and treats.
Event Details
For our first bake swap, let's keep the theme simple with classic "Crowd Pleaser" homemade treats, ones that are simple, familiar, and always a hit! Share the ingredients, and swap with neighbors.
Where
Naperville Riverwalk Picnic Tables
When
Saturday, June 20th 12pm-2pm
First things first - who's putting this together? That would be me Alecia. I live in north Naperville and I love baking. I'd love to meet fellow bakers and share recipes and swap treats with others.
What's the theme? We're keeping it simple and classic - think cookies, cupcakes and any of your usual crowd pleasers.
How will I find everyone? I will grab one of the picnic tables and there will be a sign on the table in a 8x11 frame.
I have known allergens how can I be sure what is in everyone's baked goods? In every RSVP we will ask each baker to list all the ingredients in their baked good. Additionally, this information will be embedded in a QR code that everyone can reference when they review the RSVP list. Each baker can print this QR code and place it on their baked good to bring to the bake swap.
I RSVP'd but I want to update my responses, can I do that? Yes, when you first submit the form, make sure you select 'send me a copy of my responses'. You can use the link in your email to update your response should you choose to modify what you are bringing.
Will there be anything else available besides baked goods? As the host, I will bring bottled water and a Box O' Joe.
How will I know how much to bake? Keep visiting the webpage to see how many folks have RSVP'd - this is in the Who's Bringing What section of the webpage.
What if I want to bring some of the goods back home with me? I recommend bringing some empty Tupperware with you so you can bring home some of your favorite treats.
I feel like since this is a bake swap, there should be a winner? And we can do that - we'll do a quick vote at the end for the best treat and someone will walk away with a prize!
What are some things participants should keep in mind? This is a safe place. There is no need for negativity or mean remarks. Let's all be kind - at the end of the day most of us are just regular folks, who just enjoy baking.
